In my “former life,” I was a business owner running a technology company that provided IT support services in the medical field. While I found the business rewarding, it was also an incredible burden to be responsible for my employees, contractors, overhead, and the constant fluctuations of the business cycle. At its peak, I was managing 50 people, which, as you can imagine, became overwhelming. I knew I wanted to break free from that cycle, which inspired me to explore trading.

Back in the 1990s, I had incredible success trading on news and tips. At that time, brokers would inform you of expected breaking news or rumors, and you could trade based on those tips. I felt invincible—“tip trading” seemed to work every time, and I made a significant amount of money. That’s the good news.

The bad news? I lost the entire amount in less than a year when the “tip trading” approach collapsed—along with the markets.

This experience got me hooked on trading, but it also made me realize I had been chasing a fad rather than building a sustainable trading business. I knew there had to be a better, more predictable, and long-term approach to trading. So, in the early 2000s, I decided to divest from my technology company and fully commit to trading.

I started by trading OEX options, which were quite popular at the time—before e-Mini futures took over. While following a signal-based service, I did okay, but I didn’t fully understand why I was taking certain trades since I was simply following blind signals.

Once again, I felt I wasn’t following a true system. That realization inspired me to start developing my own trading systems and learning programming. In 2001, I signed up for a NetPicks service, trading stocks on a swing trading and occasional day trading basis. I proceeded to automate much of the process and became a dedicated believer in the “NetPicks Way”—a systemized approach to trading that puts the odds in your favor and ensures you always trade with a plan.

My interest then shifted to forex trading, and I helped NetPicks develop its software and automation tools for forex. In 2004, I became a Managing Partner in the business.

Since then, I’ve been responsible for the training, education, and coaching side of the business. We take great pride in having the best coaching team in the industry. Every coach was originally a NetPicks customer, which puts them in a unique position to understand exactly what you’re experiencing on your journey to becoming a successful trader. Additionally, all of our coaches remain active in the markets, keeping them fresh and up-to-date on both our systems and the realities of trading.

I truly believe we provide a huge shortcut for anyone learning to trade or working to master their skills. My best advice? Take full advantage of all the resources we offer. Trading is a skill that requires continuous development and improvement. If you stay committed, you can be well rewarded for your efforts.
